Based out of Charlotte, NC, we began investing in multifamily real estate in 2020, right at the onset of the pandemic. This was done as a means to diversify our holdings beyond the conventional offerings of stocks and bonds, and as a means to generate wealth and provide security for our family outside of and in addition to our original careers.
Financial health and well being have been overall themes throughout our partnership, and we have been dedicated in mentoring, coaching and teaching others’ in these topics. Despite the recent uncertainties, multifamily investing has proven to be a tax advantageous, stable and reliable asset class to provide cash flow, increase net worth, weather economic storms and as a hedge against inflation.
As a family venture, our overall mission and purpose is to connect with all of our partners and stakeholders on a personal level, with authenticity and integrity. Our role is to serve all involved, from our tenants, investors, vendors and partners, while improving neighborhoods, teaching and mentoring, providing returns for our partners and building relationships.We believe that our interactions with all are more than just transactional, but rather symbiotic.
We are originally born, raised and educated in the Greater Toronto and Southern Ontario area of Canada. Our careers have been in healthcare, banking and personal finance.

Dr. Joel J. Napenas
CEO, Managing Partner and Co-Founder
Joel oversees strategic planning, underwriting and outreach for 5DH Capital. He is a practicing dental specialist, educator and published academic (of over 32 peer reviewed articles, textbook chapters and editorships), residency training program director having trained over 65 dentists and dental specialists, hospital department chief and medical director for several practices at an academic medical center in Charlotte, NC. He lectures and presents at national and international meetings. In addition to educating in his specialty, he teaches and mentors/coaches on wellbeing, personal finance and investing. He is an avid investor managing a diversified portfolio of assets, including their real estate portfolio.
Winnie L. Napenas
COO, Managing Partner and Co-Founder
Winnie is a real estate professional and asset manager, overseeing the day-to-day operations managing our portfolio of multifamily properties. She has 10 years of experience in client relationship and financial management, working with individuals in addressing and achieving their financial goals in life in retail banking. She also was an administrator and project manager, leading a division within Scotiabank’s World Banking Operations in Toronto, in implementing a new data management system for their international division. She also was a registered nurse taking care of critically ill patients in the intensive care unit. Winnie holds a Bachelor of Economics (University of Western Ontario) and Nursing degree from Winston-Salem State University.
