Initially, I had my heart set on becoming a physician, but on my first attempt was rejected by the many schools I applied to. My fear of uncertainty and having to reapply and be rejected for years led me to settle for dental school, something I went into blindly and second guessed from the beginning. However it was afterwards that I discovered oral medicine, a field that perfectly combined my interests in both medicine and dentistry.

My journey highlights the importance of staying open to new possibilities and finding purpose in whatever path life takes you. It has led me to a career in practice, educating and academics beyond anything I could have every imagined.
